Telehealth

We believe taking care of your mental health should be a priority, which is why we are making it easy, safe, and accessible with telehealth services.

Telehealth

What is Telehealth?

Alliance Counseling Utah is offering virtual mental health care due to the current conditions surrounding the COVID19- pandemic. This is a fast growing health care method that provides a personal connection to your therapist without having to leave your home. This is also a great option in the event you are not able to meet in-person for other reasons, and still maintain your appointment. Please give as much notice as possible to arrange for the change.

How does Telehealth work?

After your appointment is scheduled, you will receive an email with a link to your personal session.  You may receive an additional link a few minutes prior to your session as well. When you click on this link, it will automatically open a virtual meeting with your therapist. Telehealth can be done from your personal computer, tablet, or smartphone.

What should I do to prepare for my virtual session?

Preparing for a successful virtual therapy session is similar to preparing for an in-person session. We recommend taking the following steps:

  • Prepare as if you are having an in-person appointment.  If there are things you are working on with your therapist, have your notes ready for your session.
  • Minimizing distractions is an important part of your therapy. To keep background noise to a minimum, make sure to close any doors, shut windows, turn off the television, and keep loud pets in another room if possible. Arrange for childcare if necessary. Consider hanging a “Do Not Disturb” sign on the door to avoid interruptions.
  • Close other programs and apps on your computer, tablet, or smartphone. Make sure you are connected to the internet.
  • In the unlikely event of an Internet outage or disconnection, your therapist will either send the link again or call you to continue your session via phone. Your therapist will be responsible to make sure you receive your full session.
Is Telehealth private?

Just like a face-to-face appointment, your Telehealth visit will be private and confidential.

Will the appointments be recorded?

None of our appointments will ever be recorded or stored. Telehealth is a safe option for mental health care.
