Stacie Later, LCSW

“Follow your heart and take your brain with you” is a mantra I live by. I believe in balance, connectivity and authenticity. My clinical style and approach is uniquely tailored to individual, families and partner(s) with the goal of ensuring those I strive to serve are getting their needs met. In therapy with me your humanness is welcomed and embraced!

I am a certified trauma therapist in Critical Memory Integration, Accelerated Resolution Therapy and the Neurosequential Model of Therapeutics. I am also a member of the International Society for the Study of Trauma and Dissociation, and the American Association of Suicidology. I earned my Master of Social Work from Loyola University Chicago with emphasis in advanced mental health practices, and my Bachelor of Social Work with certificate in Advanced Substance Use Disorder Counseling from the University of Utah. I am especially an advocate of community colleges because Salt Lake Community College was the foundation in my academic endeavors.

I’m trained and qualified to treat complex trauma, PTSD, depression, anxiety, non-suicidal self-injury and suicidality. I use an integrated approach of Attachment Based Family Therapy, Emotionally Focused Therapy, somatic memory reconsolidation and Internal Family Systems with a deep emphasis on compassion bringing alongside a neurological lens and behavioral techniques from ACT, DBT, RO-DBT and CBT. The approach I use allows us to get at the root of issues while nurturing growth to move forward confidently, efficiently and effectively.

My experience working in Social Work and with mental health has a vast range. While I was in my academic study, I felt it was imperative that I also gain hands on experiences outside the classroom. I have worked with children, teens and adults in hospitals, school setting, domestic and sexual violence crisis, residential care, intensive outpatient, detox and court mandated treatment.

I work with ages 10 and up.

Mondays I am in South Jordan, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays I am in our Sandy office location. In my time outside of the office I enjoy horsemanship, art, guitar, reading and writing, playing Magic the Gathering and fitness training.
